Aidi allows you to extract certain information in the form of a Word document or letter. In order to use this feature, a letter template must be defined for the targeted resource.
You can produce a letter for the following Aidi resources:
- Budget
- Assets
- Contractual changes
- Declarations
- Invoices
- Payment request
- Project dashboard
- Project details
- Project Financing
- Proposals
- Purchase order
- Suppliers
To add a new letter template, you must have an access profile with Write permission for report resource. If you encounter any problems, please contact your administrator.
To create your letter template, we’ve made the process as simple as possible!
First, create a Word document (or Open Document), or take an existing file, and save it in .docx format.
✏️Note: .doc extensions are not supported.
Within this file, directly integrate the tags that correspond to the Aidi data. The list of available tags, depending on the letter generation screen, is available in the Wiki Resources section. A tag is enclosed in square brackets and will be replaced by the value contained in Aidi, for example [budget.totalcalculated], will display the total budget amount when the letter is generated.
- You can manage this Word document just like any other! Integrate your logo and images, create the layout, etc.
- When your template is ready, go to Admin / Letter templates.
- Click on the Create button.
- Select the document you’ve created with the tags.
- Specify the name and a brief description of the template.
- Determine whether this template is visible to all or to specific access profiles.
- Select the screen for which the template is intended.
- Save your template.
✏️Note: Make sure that the tags used in the letter are related to the usage screen (different tabs in the tag list). If Aidi doesn’t find a corresponding value, it will simply leave the tag as it is.

Generate a Letter
Once the letter template has been added to Aidi, you can produce a letter including data of the project.
- Go to the Aidi page for which you wish to extract the data in a letter. For example, a contractual change.
- Click on the Letters button in the top right-hand corner.
- Select the letter template you wish to use by clicking on the Download button.
- You'll find the letter in your downloads.
💡Hint: You can add a new template directly from the relevant page at the very bottom of the list of letters.
