Description from the Microsoft website:
VBA macros are a common way for malicious actors to gain access to deploy malware and ransomware. Therefore, to help improve security in Office, we’re changing the default behavior of Office applications to block macros in files from the internet.
This change affects how users interact with files from the internet, like email attachments containing macros. Now, when users open such a file, they see the following message:
What to do about it - 2 options
Option 1 - Enable all documents downloaded from your Aidi environment to use macros
- Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Security tab
- Click on the Trusted Sites button.
- Click on the Sites button.
- Add the URL of your Aidi environment to the Sites list. The URL should look like https://xxxxxx.aidi.io
- Click on the Add button.
Option 2 - Unblock file security
For individual files like:
- Files downloaded from an Internet location
- Mail attachments that you've saved on your local device
- Files that end up in your downloads (ex: Excel reports from Aidi),
easiest way to unlock macros is to remove Mark from the web, i.e. unlock the security.
- Right-click on the file
- Choose Properties
- Activate the Unblock checkbox in the General tab.
- Click OK.
