In the Scheduler “…More” menu, you can manage what each project contact can and cannot do on the scheduler page by selecting Permission management. To access this menu, your access role must include "Scheduler access manager" in Create / Modify.
This feature allows you to assign permissions that apply to scheduler functionality only, for people identified as Contacts in the project.
Permission Definition
- Reader: This permission allows project contacts to view the scheduler.
- Update Calendar, Auto Schedule and New Task features are disabled.
- This permission allows users to view the items in each task.
- Resource management feature is also available with Read permission.
- Under the More menu, only the Share function is available.
- Collaborator: This permission authorizes the same elements as the Reader permission, and also allows contacts identified as responsible for a task to modify its details (if their user role allows them to).
- All functionalities of the task for which the Responsible person has Collaborator permission are activated and available for modification.
- The Collaborator permission lets you read and modify tasks for which you are responsible.
- The Collaborator sees all tasks and can only modify those for which he is identified as Responsible.
- This is the default permission assigned to project contacts.
- Manager: This permission authorizes project contacts to add and modify tasks, assign persons responsible for those tasks, change their status and perform all possible operations in the scheduler, insofar as their user role allows.
- The person identified as Project Manager in the project Contacts section (identified by a blue icon) is automatically assigned the Manager permission.
- All contacts with the Manager permission are able to modify the permissions of project contacts in the scheduler if their user role includes "Scheduler access manager" in Create / Modify.
✏️Note: Restricting read-only rights in project contacts has no impact on schedule permissions.
Examples:
Reader
In the example above, in blue, “Thomas Houtart” has read-only permission to scheduler tasks. He can open the task, but cannot modify it.
Collaborator
In the example above, in black, “France Gentesse+2” has a Collaborator permission, the default permission assigned to project contacts. She can only modify tasks for which she is responsible.
Manager
In the example above, in green, “Robert Scott” has a Manager permission, so he can perform all the operations that his user role allows him to perform on the tasks of scheduler of the project on which he is a contact.
