In this product update, we’ve made some small changes to the existing portfolio menu, all while giving you more present tools to help you manage all your project portfolios.

We've also made the scheduler’s Resource Management feature even simpler and more user-friendly, saving you precious time and mouse clicks!

Finally, we've enabled you to copy contact roles to imported elements from a template project when creating new ones, making your approval chains ready to use.

Aidi Can Help You Manage Your Project Portfolios

We've added a new Portfolio Management feature, enabling you to better manage your project portfolios. Portfolios can include projects and programs, and you can even manage the visibility of these portfolios by administrative unit.

Once you've created your portfolios, you can filter your project lists and schedules by portfolio, allowing you to analyze financial data, perform risk analysis and manage tasks within the same portfolio.

Portfolio Out, Analytics In

We’ve renamed our Portfolio page to the new Analytics menu to better reflect what’s presented and how it’s used. But don’t worry, the page content hasn't changed, and all the same great features are just where you left them.

 

Simplified Resource Management

The Resource management feature has been around for a while, and we've removed some steps and added new filters to make it easier to use.

Before activating resource management, you’ll need to select a filter and we've added filters by resource and by employee function. That way, you can select the resources for which you want to manage effort in all their tasks.

Since you activate your filters in advance, as soon as you select the Resource Management function, the resource table is displayed.

 

Copy Contact Roles Into Your Projects

When creating a project from a template project, the existing approval chains and contacts are automatically copied to the new project. Since approval chains can be configured by project contact role, the role of contacts in the template project is also copied with it. This means that approval chains configured by role are functional as soon as the project is created.

The aim of this addition is to reinforce the use of project templates to facilitate the standardization of your project management.

Project

• Contact roles are now copied at the same time as contacts when a template is used to create a project.
• In the board view for the project list, a tooltip displaying the project's full name now appears when hovering over the map with the mouse.

Scheduler/Tasks

• We’ve made the resource management feature easier to use and can now display capacity by resource.

Filter

• On all pages where the custom filter is accessible, the filter field turns blue when selected, making it easier to see that a filter's applied. 

Invoice

• The Purchase Order field in the invoice description section has been transformed into a link for easy access to the purchase order. 

Report List

• A search bar has been added to the Report Models section.

Introduction to the Portfolio Concept

• A new Portfolio Management section has been added to the Initialize menu, allowing you to group projects according to different criteria of your choice.
• The existing Portfolio menu has been renamed to Analytics.

Improvements and Fixes

Access Management 

• A user with permissions to create new users can now set a user inactive.

Budget

• You can now assign budget access permission to a user who does not have access to financing.

Buildings

• We've fixed a bug so you can now create contacts in the buildings page. 

Contractual Change

• The % and $ fields in the Cause section are now limited to numeric characters.
• New error message when an incorrect cause amount is entered.

Filter

• Filters are now harmonized throughout the Aidi platform.
• The display of items to be filtered in the filter creation mode  has been corrected.
• You can now select a parent item in a filter without automatically selecting its children.

Financing

• We’ve allowed $0 as financing to be created even if there are no engaged costs and no operating expenses.

Lessons Learned

• We’ve fixed a bug so you can now move between pages in the list of lessons learned.

Logbook

• You can now deactivate a filter without having to reset the page.

Operating Expenses

• Operating expenses associated with projects selected from the Operating Expenses page can be displayed.
• You can now select a project in the creation mode.
• New button to delete a document associated with an operating expense.

Project 

• Details page: Read rights for a project contact are no longer restricted.
• Project List: New calculation of payable amount column: invoice payable amount - holdbacks.

Project Modification

• You can now return to the list of project modifications when Save and Close is clicked.

Project Request

• Correction allowing removing the program selection and reset the field to empty.
• An empty page will not be displayed anymore if a search is launched when the search field is empty.
• Correction allowing to return to the list of project requests when clicking Save and Close.

Risks

• Corrected  display of the number of risks results in the custom filter on the Risk page.

• Filters  are now displayed on the Risk page.

Scheduler/Tasks 

• A parent task can now take the milestone date as its end date when the milestone contains the latest date of the child tasks.
• Fix of a bug that made it impossible to open a scheduler task.
• Simulation: 
  • The padlock will no longer be displayed after exiting simulation mode.
  • Simulation auto schedule will now be saved when reimported.  
  • User with an Admin is now able to cancel a simulation.
• Creator of a task can no longer approve it if that person was not one of the designated approvers. 
• Start date of a parent task is now recalculated following auto schedule.

Shop Drawings

• We’ve added a button to delete a document associated with a shop drawing.

Timesheet

• Corrected calculation of revised remaining effort when the result includes a decimal.

Security

• TLS certificate version increment from 1.2 to 1.3.
