The Multi-project Dashboard report provides hierarchical visibility of selected projects when one of these projects is a master project. If no master project is selected, the report shows the progress of all selected projects in separate tabs. In this report you can, among other things, consult financial and contractual information, as well as schedule elements for the selected projects.
What is a master project?
A master project can be defined to group different projects under a single project. Each sub-project has its own budget and is managed as an independent project. In the Multi-Project Dashboard report, the master project groups together all its child projects to view overall progress.
To identify a Project as a master project, a Master Project additional field (Projet Maître) must be created in the Project section of the Custom Fields Menu in the Admin menu.
- Click on the Create button.
- In the pop-up window, enter the field name: Projet Maître (Currently, it has to be entered in French)
✏️Note: It is important to respect the upper case when creating this additional field, otherwise it will not be recognized in the report.
- In the Entity field, select Project.
- The Column Type must be Checkbox.
- Click Save.
- The new custom field is added to the Project section.
On the project Details page, you'll find this information in the Custom fields section. Check the box to define the project as a master project.
Running the Report
To run the Multi-project Dashboard report, in the Report List, select the master project and the child projects you wish to see in the report. A maximum of 50 projects can be selected.
✏️Note 1: If more than one master project is selected, the report will not be generated.
✏️Note 2: If no master project is selected, the report will display information for each of the selected projects in individual tabs, as well as a list of projects included in the report.
Generate the report as described in How to generate Excel report in Aidi?
