Your Aidi access profile determines whether you have read or write access to the Logbook.
From a computer or tablet, you can access the Log book via the Supervision menu.
On your smartphone, you will be redirected directly to the logbook page.
To create a new note:
- Click on the + at top right.
- Choose the project to which the note will be attached, then click on the arrow at the bottom or on the Date tab.
- By default, Aidi displays the current date and time, but you can change it if needed. Next, click on the right arrow at the bottom or on the Text tab.
- Type text and format it using the word processor menu.
- The cross shape button enlarges the input window to full screen.
- At any point in the text, you can mention a member of the project team by typing @. The list of available names will automatically appear (this list comes from the project contacts indicated in the project file). When you mention a person, they receive an email with the contents of your note, along with any attachments.
- If one or more note templates have been created in your environment, you can select them to ensure consistency in your logbook notes.
- In the Files tab, choose the files to be included in the note by clicking on the Add button or simply by dragging a document into the section. (PDF, Excel, Word, images, etc.)
- Fill in additional fields as required.
✏️Note: Custom fields can be configured according to the needs of each customer. It is possible that no custom fields are available in your environment.
- Enter “tags”: these make it easier to find your notes using the filter. Click on the “Enter” button on your keyboard to save a tag (Example: Impairment, Visit, Excavation, Structure, QRT, etc.).
✏️Note: To create a tag, start typing the beginning of the word and Aidi will suggest similar existing tags for you to select. It might also be useful to define nomenclature to be used for tags to avoid ending up with too many tags (e.g., always use the singular, capitalize the first letter, etc.).
- Finally, choose who will be able to see your note.
- All: All persons identified as contacts on the project and having access to the logbook.
- Private: Only the person who created the note and the administrator(s) in Aidi.
- Custom: Select the specific people who will be able to see the note. The list shows the people identified as contacts on the project who have access to the logbook.
- Click on Create.
Aidi will automatically show weather information from the project site.
You can add comments to each note. You can also tag people. This creates a history of Q&A.
